JAMES KERR is an all-round theatre person. His first-class direction of plays and his inspirational teaching both have their roots in his training to be an actor. His knowledge and experience have breadth and depth - which has resulted in many admirers among his students and colleagues. His work with young actors – many with exceptional talents – has been influential and of permanent value. He is a naturally caring person. Serious and patient to a degree, he exercises great discipline in his work and is satisfied only with the highest standard of achievement. He works, so far as I can tell, to no particular system, but uses aspects of many wherever he deems useful. So his work is personal and idiosyncratic and shaped for the individual.
